Terms of Use
Effective date: August 30, 2026
These terms cover the Cookaday app and this website. Using either means accepting them. They are written to be read.
Who you are agreeing with
Cookaday is operated by Palms Studio LLC, 135 Birchwood Ter, Wayne, NJ 07470-3836 (“we”). Contact: cookaday@palmstudio.app.
What Cookaday is
Cookaday decides what you cook. It writes a small number of options for the request you make, remembers what you have saved and cooked so it does not repeat itself, and produces a shopping list. It is not a medical, nutritional or dietary service, and it gives no health advice.
Food safety — read this one
- You are the cook. Cookaday gives instructions; judging whether food is safely and properly cooked is yours to do, in your kitchen, with your equipment.
- Cooking temperatures come from checked data. Internal temperatures, doneness cues and core timings are taken from a hand-checked table with a cited source for each entry. The prose around them is written automatically and validated against that table before it is shown.
- Ovens, hobs and ingredients vary. Times are a guide. Use a thermometer where one is called for, and cook to the stated internal temperature rather than to the clock.
- Allergies. An allergen you record is treated as a hard constraint: it is excluded from the request, and the generated answer is re-checked for it before you see it. That is a strong safeguard, not a guarantee. If you or anyone you cook for has a severe allergy, read the label on every product you buy and do not rely on this app alone.
- If you report an incorrect cooking temperature or time, we will investigate it and withdraw the recipe while we do.
What is free, and what is paid
- Saving is free and unlimited, permanently. There is no cap on how many recipes you save or import, and there never will be a charge for saving.
- Reading is free. Every recipe page published on this site opens for anyone, with no app and no account.
- A subscription buys the decision: answers bent to your kitchen, your time and your household, the shopping list merged across recipes, and a memory that keeps suggestions from repeating.
- There is no advertising in Cookaday. Not on the recipe, not in the shopping list, and never in cook mode.
Subscriptions, billing and cancellation
Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple or Google through your store account, not by us. Payment is taken when you confirm the purchase, and the subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Prices, the renewal period and any trial are shown in the app before you confirm.
Cancel in your store account — on iPhone under Settings, your name, Subscriptions; on Android in the Play Store under Payments and subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. Refunds are handled by the store under its own policy; we cannot issue them.
Your account and your data
Cookaday uses an anonymous installation identifier rather than an account with a name and password. Keep in mind that this ties your saved recipes to the installation: if you delete the app or lose the device, that data may not be recoverable. What we store and how to delete it is set out in the Privacy Policy and on Delete your data.
Content
- Recipes Cookaday writes. The recipe text and the step photographs in the app and on this site are ours. You may cook from them, share a link to a published page, and print a copy for your own use. Please do not republish the text or the photographs as your own, or scrape the site in bulk.
- Recipes you save from elsewhere. A recipe — the ingredients and the functional steps — is not protected by copyright; the author’s prose, photographs and video are. When Cookaday imports something you saved, it restates the method in its own words and links back to the source. It does not republish somebody else’s writing or photographs, and neither should you.
- What you add. Your saved links, notes and profile remain yours. You give us only the permission needed to store them and to run the app for you.
- Attribution and takedown. If you are a creator and something of yours appears here in a way you did not intend, write to cookaday@palmstudio.app and we will remove it.
Acceptable use
Do not use Cookaday to break the law, to attack or overload the service, to scrape it in bulk, to resell its output as your own product, or to attempt to defeat the safety checks described above.
Availability, and changes
Cookaday is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be available without interruption, that a given recipe will remain published, or that every answer will suit your kitchen. Answers can be withdrawn and rewritten when people report that they do not work. Features may change; if a change materially reduces what a paid subscription includes, we will say so before it takes effect.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Cookaday, and our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
Ending it
You can stop using Cookaday at any time by deleting your data and removing the app. We may suspend access if these terms are broken in a way that harms the service or other people.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections available to you where you live.
Changes to these terms
Updated terms are published on this page with a new effective date. Continuing to use Cookaday after that date means accepting them.
